It’s all His hand, it’s His idea:
He tells me the joys you share,
Calls on me when you shed tears.
You know my friend,
Maybe we shall pretend?
No need to hear my voice,
Or to see my eyes,
When you see them brown,
The light sees them shine.
My comments will tell,
Whom and what I like
My pictures will show,
Who and what I am.
No need to feel my presence;
You now know my charm.
Ever seen you? Heard of you?
Watched you grow through pictures,
When you ask: ever met before?
My, sure, in caricature
Virtually he suggested
You as my friend,
Intrigued me by
The cello in your hands.
On our own,
Maybe we would‘ve met,
Maybe stared at a painting
On a wall,
In an Art museum like we use to,
Like we use to wonder,
Who is that boy, who is that girl?
In the picture, what is in her?
Now Facebook tells you
She is whom you see,
He is whom you should seek
The friend you will never be,
For an added name on your list.
Aww ... a simple subject but a very poignant treatment.
RépondreSupprimerGreat post!
Thought provoking poem.
RépondreSupprimerI like the idea on online friendships but I think the two (online and real life),are totally different relationships. I deactivated my FB again and deleted my twitter. Those sites were requiring too much attention for me to handle. Blogger seems to be my limit and even this does freak me out occasionally <3
I wouldn't compare bloggers to Facebook. I feel closer to my followers than to my facebook friends. here it doesnt matter whom we all you are, we now the best and the worst about each other
RépondreSupprimerI personally can't stand Facebook and the new trend of keeping up friendships and relationships through an online tool. I think it's because of this that people ( in my community anyway ) feel less of a need to actually see and spend time with their friends because they have replaced the personal contact with update statuses, wall posts and "like". To me that's not a relationship. It's annoying, the only reason I have a FB account is to keep up with friends overseas.
RépondreSupprimerSounds like you could possibly have a great relationship with whoever this person is in your poem.
This is so powerful and true.
RépondreSupprimerI agree that blogging is different.
You get to know the person through the real as opposed to the superficial.
glad to see a new post :)
RépondreSupprimeryou're thoughts are so much what i think about and i to like my friends here on the blogs.
well time keeps pn changing, so do we...and finally so will friendship and eventually facebook will... nice post... :)
RépondreSupprimerInteresting poem. I am here for first time and i like what I saw and read. Online friendships are okay but when FB becomes a means to keep in touch with all ur past and present friends ..it turns great...
RépondreSupprimerI have only 3-4 online friends in FB, others are all my real life friends only.
Thank you for visiting my blog. I am here for the first time too.
RépondreSupprimeryour poems are emotional, as if each is from ur experience.
Hey rose,
RépondreSupprimerThanks for stopping by, I fully agree with you that Facebook is a great way to keep in touch nut it saddens me when I hear people redefining the meaning of relationship through Facebook
Hope to see some more of your comments :)
